Evony: The King’s Return (Evony TKR) is now available on PC. The R&D team has optimized the game for PC, delivering an immersive large-screen experience. The game combines city development, puzzle-solving, exploration, recruitment of historical generals, and epic battles. In 2023, Evony TKR reported a revenue increase to over $355 million. This figure highlights its popularity among MMO war strategy game fans. Developed by Top Games Inc., the game is led by co-founder and CEO David Guo and Vice President Benjamin Gifford, both with over a decade of game development experience.
David Guo: UX Always Comes First
David Guo (Yaoqi Guo), CEO of Top Games Inc., oversees all essential departments, focusing on user experience (UX). With a background in software development and API design, David’s college years were marked by his software creations like Skynet Firewall and Virtual Currency Exchange. His passion for gaming led him to prioritize player experience in his career.
“Top Games focuses on providing top-tier player experiences and services. We design games from the player’s perspective. Noting that players not only make many friends but also live out portions of their lives in games, we aim to create the best gaming experience possible and to cultivate long-lasting gaming communities that continually enhance that experience,” David said in an interview.
David Guo graduated from Sun Yat-sen University, majoring in Physics. During his time at university, he actively participated in software development competitions and won several awards. He had been exposed to programming since high school and was recognized as a programming talent. In 1998, he developed his first software, Skynet, a firewall application that helped protect user privacy and security.
As a gamer, David spent most of his time playing games in addition to completing his studies. He noticed that many game developers did not care about the player experience. Soon after, with the rapid growth of the gaming industry, he formed a goal to create high-quality games with an excellent user experience.
Evony TKR Features
Evony’s standout features attract many players. Set in a virtual medieval continent, the game involves quelling rebellions, developing territorial power, and aspiring to overthrow a brutal king. Players engage with seven historical civilizations and legendary heroes like Lincoln, Joan of Arc, and Genghis Khan. Historic city occupations provide players with corresponding generals, enhancing their civilization’s development.
