Evony has released a new mounted troop general, Artemis, at the start of the Starry Pilgrimage event. This general is arguably the best one in the game for cavalry troops so far. Read this guide to learn about Artemis’ strengths and weaknesses, how to obtain her, and recommended general combinations.
General Background
In the vast forests of ancient Greece, under the silver light of the Moon, stands Artemis – the fearless Goddess of the Hunt and the Moon, and one of the Twelve Olympian Gods.
Born with an unyielding spirit of independence and justice, Artemis vowed to remain untouched by love, dedicating herself to protecting nature, animals, and the weak. Armed with her silver bow and arrows, she led the nymphs through the wilds, striking down the wicked and upholding justice.
Her wrath was swift and unrelenting. When humans defied nature’s laws during the Trojan War, Artemis unleashed her wrath, halting the fleets with a storm and reminding all humans of nature’s power and the gods’ sacredness.
Symbolizing the purity and mystery of the moon, Artemis’ presence shines like a beacon in the night. Her legend lives on, embodying strength, mercy, and the divine union of nature.

Comparison of Artemis’ Strength with Other Cavalry Main Generals
Artemis is suitable as the main general of the cavalry unit (mounted troops). Besides, during the Starry Pilgrimage event and for some time after the event, the probability of obtaining this general in the game is high, and it is relatively easy to complete the ascend.
We compare Artemis with other commonly used cavalry main generals to help you determine the general that suits you. The following table lists the gains to mounted troops and march size when their special skills, specialties, and covenant buffs are all at the maximum level.
(The data in the table includes general skins’ buffs and buffs for attacking mounted troops.)
Generals | Mounted Troop Attack | Mounted Troop Defense | Mounted Troop HP | March Size |
---|---|---|---|---|
Artemis | +250% | +175% | +190% | +5% |
George Monck | +230% | +130% | +155% | +8% |
Marco Polo | +230% | +95% | +130% | +29% |
Napoleon Prime | +220% | +140% | +75% | +13% |
Haakon Haraldsson | +185% | +160% | +110% | +29% |
Hestia | +185% | +160% | +95% | +10% |
Cheng Yaojin | +180% | +115% | +80% | +39% |
Washington Prime | +160% | +85% | +130% | +31% |
Based on the above data, we can draw the following conclusions:
- Artemis’s buffs to cavalry attack, defense, and HP are better than other generals of the same category. But, her buffs to march size capacity are weaker, so it is best to pair her with assistant generals who can make up for this shortcoming.
- If your march size buffs are not good and you need to use generals with this buff, you can consider using Marco Polo and Haakon Haraldsson as your main generals first, and Hermes, Cheng Yaojin, and Washington Prime, who also have high march size bonuses, as your assistant generals.
